Psychology of interpersonal relationships
Part-time Lecturer: Yumiko Miura

About the content and ingenuity of the class

"Psychology of interpersonal relationships" is a lecture on the theme of thinking about the psychological state that occurs when a person interacts with a person from the perspective of social psychology. Although it is based on the knowledge of previous research in social psychology, human psychology and behavior change depending on the times and cultures, so instead of accepting the results of previous research as they are, we do not accept the results of previous research as they are, but now and our culture. Then, I aimed for a class that would make people think about what the result would be. Also, while multiple teachers are giving lecture on the same theme, I would like to make the class that make use of my characteristics as a counselor working in the industrial field, and I have questions about interpersonal relationships that students feel every day. I organized the lecture in connection with my worries. For example, is it true that the interview is decided by the first impression? Why do you want to watch a "crying" movie? Why aren't you happy with the success of your close friends? We have set up sub-themes such as why bullying such as SNS occurs every time. In addition, we asked for opinions on the themes that we would like to see added in the questionnaire at the time of orientation, and reflected them.
As for how to proceed with the class, we aim to incorporate not only knowledge acquisition but also opportunities to experience through seminar and two-way communication so that we can utilize it in our daily lives, but we aim to incorporate a large number of about 300 people. Therefore, it was difficult to realize. Even so, I added work in pairs and individual work so that I could deepen my self-understanding. I find it difficult to ask questions during class, so I move around the class as much as possible and talk to the people in the back seats. I devised such as.
I was looking forward to reading the comments from the students because they gave me a perspective that I had never thought of. Why does bullying on social media occur, and what can I do to prevent it? Thinking about what each person can do, "Imagine the person reading this message and then press the send button." "First, don't bully yourself, then look at it as a bystander." I was impressed by the comments such as "I have the courage not to pretend to be blind."
