Entering the Country and Returning from Overseas (updated May 21)

As a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic, everyone entering Japan from any country or region, regardless of if they are in good health, are required to wait for 14 days from the day after they enter the country at a location designated by the quarantine station chief (home, etc.) and are not allowed to use public transportation, including for transportation from the airport, etc.
In addition to traveling using a private vehicle or rental car, it is also possible to travel via a vehicle for hire as long as it meets the required criteria. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare can provide a vehicle for hire company that meets said criteria or a travel agency that can provide a driver for hire who meets the required criteria to be used when returning from abroad.

Please refer to the links below for more information.
If you need to attend school or work, contact the relevant department and follow the instructions given.
