June 16, 2022 (Thursday) SPIRIT's Internet Explorer end of support

Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer on June 16, 2022.
As a result, SPIRIT will no longer support Internet Explorer.
If you have been browsing SPIRIT using Internet Explorer, please use other browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, etc.

By using SPIRIT Gmail, you can receive and manage another mail you are using at home.
To move mail from another account to SPIRIT Gmail,Forwarding mail"When"Retrieve mailThere are two ways.
Either way, new mail will be forwarded to your SPIRIT Gmail account, but you can transfer existing mail as "Retrieve mail"only.

Transfer different mail

  1. SPIRIT GmailAfter logging in to the upper left [Configuration] Button, and select "Mail setting" from the pull-down menu.

  2. [account] Tab, click the [Add another email addressPlease click the link.

  3. A separate window will open, so please enter your preferred email account and password.
    (Here we use the following Rikkyo address, but you can use it with other accounts)
    After input, [Add account >>]Please push the button.
    Enter the mail address you want as the sender
  4. Check "Send via Rikkyo University mail" on the "Add address by another mail" screen,Next step >>]Please push the button.

  5. Since confirmation screen will be displayed,Send confirmation email]Please push the button.

  6. The confirmation code input screen is displayed, but wait as it is without doing anything.

  7. Please wait for a couple of minutes, open the e-mail of the person you want to transfer and check the new mail.
    You will receive an email saying "Confirmation from Rikkyo University", please click and open the text.

    Note) If e-mail does not arrive indefinitely, click [Resend e-mail] on the "Add another e-mail address" screen.
  8. If you click on the link in the text or enter the confirmation code in "Add another email address", the added email address will be registered as the source address.

  10. Again at the top right of the page,Configuration] Link and click [accountSelect the tab.
  11. Select [Reply from the address that received the mail] in [When receiving a message].

  12. When creating a new mail or replying to an email, you can select the email address you added as the sender address.

Acquire another mail

Use SPIRIT Gmail to send other emails "GetTo do so, the mail account that gets the mailSupports POP accountYou need to do.

Caution

Please contact the customer service department of your email provider to see if POP access is available for your account.

Mail reception settings

  1. SPIRIT GmailAfter logging in to the upper left [Configuration] Button, and select "Mail setting" from the pull-down menu.

  3. In the mail address, enter the mail address you want to receive and press [Next steps >>] button.

  4. On the "Add another mail account" screen, fill in as follows.
    ① In the "User name" field, enter the email address to use as the sender.
    ② Enter your password in "Password" field
    ③ Complete the server name in the "POP server" field
    ④ Select the "port" number (normally, port "110" for unencrypted connection, port "995" for SSL)
    ⑤ Select one of the check items and check it.

  5. On the edit screen of the mail account,No(You can change it later)] and select it.

    Once mail reception is completed, data migration is complete.
    Note) Sending from SPIRIT Gmail is not set

Detailed description

  • Leave a copy of the received message on the server
    If you want to keep a copy of each message Gmail retrieved from another email account, select the Keep a copy of received messages on server checkbox.
    That way, you can access the email from either your other account or Gmail.
    If you want to delete a copy of the message Gmail got, clear this check box. In this way, Gmail deletes that message when it retrieves a message from another account. In other words, they can only be displayed in Gmail.
  • Retrieve e-mail using Secure Connection (SSL)
    If your incoming email account supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, you can turn on this option and send all the information using a secure connection.
    If the mail provider does not support SSL, you will receive an error message saying that you can not set it even if you select this option.

  • Label the received message
    Check this option to automatically label all emails retrieved from non-Google accounts. You can choose to use a predefined label (email address), but you can also select an existing label or create a new label from the pull down list.
  • Archive received messages without saving them in Inbox
    You can archive mail directly from this account without displaying it in the inbox.

Supplement
Note 1) If the amount of data is large, it will take a while for mail reception to complete.
Note 2) Even if you log out, mail reception will not be interrupted, so you do not need to open the browser until the reception is completed.

Disable setting

To disable reception of external mail once set up, set as follows.

  1. SPIRIT GmailLogin to the top right of the screen,ConfigurationClick the link.

  3. [Receive mail from another account] Section next to the account you wish to disable [Delete] Click.

This stops retrieving new mail, but unless you delete previously received mailSPIRIT GmailI will remain within.

In addition, there is a possibility that even if you have invalidated the setting, you may receive the mail you acquired just before (especially when there are many).
If you continue to receive mail from your other account for several hours after disabling the setting, other accounts may be set up to automatically forward mail.
Please log in to another mail account you use and check the setting of automatic forwarding.
