There are three ways to find scholarships for participating student exchange programs: (1) check the Student Affairs Office website and online bulletin board, (2) be directly contacted by the International Office or the department in charge, and (3) search for them individually. Method (1) includes many foundations and local governments, and since the range of eligible applicants is wide, the information will be announced on the website or bulletin board. Method (2) involves direct contact since the eligible applicants are very limited. For (3), the university does not receive promotional requests, and those who need scholarships must find and apply for them individually. For (3), you can search on the Japan Student Services Organization's overseas study support site. Additionally, the Japan Student Services Organization publishes a pamphlet, so please see here as well.
※ There are also scholarships not listed above because the offering foundations do not directly reach out to the university for recruitment or to request student recommendations. We recommend searching for these independently on the internet (e.g., Japan Student Services Organization Scholarship Site). If you find a scholarship that requires a university recommendation, please print out the application guidelines and recommendation form, then consult with the host department of your program. Since recommendation letters, signatures, and/or seals cannot be prepared on the same day, please allow sufficient time before the deadline for consultation.
