Takatsuki Town, Yamagata Prefecture
Takahata Town, located in the southeastern part of Yamagata Prefecture, is a town where agriculture is flourishing in alluvial fans, and is called "Mahoroba no Sato".
"Mahoroba" is derived from the ancient word "mahora" found in Kojiki, and means "a flat land surrounded by mountains and a fruitful place to live."
Takahata Town, which has abundant nature that can be said to be the original scenery of Japan and has cultivated a unique farmer's culture, is a field of agricultural experience.
Kamiwada Organic Rice Production Union
It was born in 1986 in the Wada district of Takahata Town, which is known for organic farming.
We have escaped from agriculture that uses a large amount of pesticides and chemical fertilizers to "deprive us of the power to grow crops," and after trial and error, we have switched to agriculture that draws out the original power of soil. Even now, we are exploring the essence of "food", regional environmental conservation, and proactive distribution through "industry-consumption alliances," and are working with consumers to create soil and hometowns.
