2023年度からセンター長となりました、社会学部長の砂川です。
社会情報教育研究センター（Center for Statistics and Information: CSI）は、調査・情報・ 統計技法を活用した教育研究支援の組織として2010年3月に設置されました。数量的な情報処理は、社会科学系の学部や大学院のみならず、人文科学や理工系に至るまで多様な分野と関わります。現代の大学教育や研究活動において、社会調査が重要な位置付けにある現状を鑑み、本センターは多様な活動を展開してきました。統計的社会調査の理論と方法に関する授業の提供だけでなく、専任の助教が学生・教員の相談に対応するコンサルティング事業を行い、講演会、セミナー、フォーラムの開催なども実施しています。是非、ご活用ください。
CSIには、3つの部会があります。政府統計の利用や活用の仕方について支援する「政府統計部会」、社会調査（質問票調査など）の実施を支援する「社会調査部会」、統計リテラシーの修得とその向上を支援する「統計教育部会」です。この3つが相互補完的に機能して、調査や数量的情報処理の総合的な支援を行っています。2011年4月より公開している「立教大学社会調査データアーカイブRikkyo University Data Archive;RUDA（ルーダ）」の運営や「社会調査士」、「専門社会調査士」、「統計検定」などの社会調査に関係した資格取得の支援活動も実施してきました。学内外のネットワーク形成に基づき、調査の設計、アーカイブのデータ収集や統計データの解析などを含む社会調査と統計分析の教育方法について研究を進めるとともに、その成果を学内外に発信してきました。

Greetings from the Director of the Center
I am Prof. Sunakawa, Dean of the Faculty of Sociology, and I have been appointed as the Director of the Center from the 2023 academic year.
The Center for Statistics and Information (CSI) was established in March 2010 as an organization to support education and research using survey, information, and statistical techniques. Quantitative information processing is applied in diverse fields, not only in social science schools, but also in the humanities and engineering. Given the current status of the importance of social research in contemporary university education and research activities, CSI has developed a diverse range of activities. In addition to offering classes on the theory and methods of statistical social research, we also provide consulting services in which full-time assistant professors provide support to graduate students and faculty members, and organize lectures, seminars, and forums. We hope you will take advantage of these services.
CSI has three subcommittees. The Government Statistics Subcommittee supports the use and application of government statistics, the Social Survey Subcommittee supports the implementation of social surveys (e.g., questionnaire surveys), and the Statistical Education Subcommittee supports the acquisition and improvement of statistical literacy. These three groups function in a complementary manner to provide comprehensive support for surveys and quantitative information processing, including the operation of the Rikkyo University Data Archive (RUDA), which has been open to the public since April 2011. We also provide support for the acquisition of qualifications related to social research, such as "certified social researcher," "certified professional social researcher," and "statistical certification test." Based on the formation of internal and external networks, we have promoted research on educational methods for social research and statistical analysis, including survey design, archival data collection, and statistical data analysis, and disseminated the results both inside and outside the university.
